Tencent Video’s upcoming costume drama Revenge (Ci Tang) has officially released its first posters following the drama’s opening ceremony.
The drama stars Zhang Linghe and Lu Yuxiao as the main leads and is adapted from Wu Yuan’s novel Ci Tang.
Zhang Linghe will play Song Ling, the Crown Prince, as well as Ye Tingyan, a mysterious and powerful official. Lu Yuxiao plays Su Luowei, the daughter of a prestigious prime-ministerial family and Song Ling’s childhood sweetheart.
The story begins when Song Ling is attacked during a Lantern Festival ceremony and everyone believes he has been killed. However, his body is never found.
Years later, he returns to the capital under a completely different identity — Ye Tingyan.
The twist? Su Luowei doesn’t know that Ye Tingyan is actually Song Ling. After Song Ling’s disappearance, she marries his younger brother, Song Lan, and secretly investigates the truth behind the case.
When she meets Ye Tingyan, she sees him as someone who can help her take revenge against Song Lan.
Meanwhile, Ye Tingyan believes that Su Luowei betrayed him by marrying his brother.
So, the two begin using each other for their own plans while neither realizes the truth about the other.
And despite everything that happened, they still love each other.
The cast also includes Liang Jie, Wang Hongyi, Liu Mengrui and Li Qing, among others.
With its identity twist, revenge storyline and complicated romance, Revenge already has an interesting setup. Zhang Linghe and Lu Yuxiao in a costume drama together?
