In Huanxi City, writer Fang Haowen struggles to make a living from his writing. His work attracts the attention of businesswoman Jin Furong, who helps him become famous almost overnight. However, his career takes another turn after he rejects her romantic advances.

Following a drunken fall from a building and a staged suicide scheme, Fang Haowen becomes the center of an internet storm.
