The female lead in My Journey to You is one of the most dangerous characters on this list. As an assassin and spy, she is naturally skilled in combat, but what makes her truly impressive is her composure. She rarely acts impulsively and always seems several steps ahead of everyone else. She is the type of character who keeps viewers guessing about her true intentions.

What impressed me most was her boldness. She was willing to approach powerful people, including the male lead, despite the risks. Every move felt calculated and purposeful.

Wonderland of Love
It would be difficult to create a strong female lead ranking without including Wonderland of Love. The female lead is a capable fighter, an intelligent strategist, and a leader who can command an army. There were even moments when she outsmarted the male lead. The drama did an excellent job building her character and showing why she deserved respect.
Li Ni, the emperor’s grandson, is stuck defending the border and dealing with a rebellion. Though royal, he’s always been neglected by his father and prefers life as a carefree general. On the battlefield, he meets Cui Lin, disguised as Lieutenant He. She’s the ambitious daughter of a powerful general, and they clash on the frontlines. Despite their rivalry, their clever strategies and banter lead them to fall for each other, mixing love with a bit of competition.
Pursuit of Jade
This is actually my favorite Chinese drama of 2026 so far. I tried not to let personal bias influence the ranking. The female lead is physically powerful and one of the strongest fighters in the drama. The only reason she doesn’t rank higher is because intelligence wasn’t her strongest attribute. She openly admits that politics and strategy aren’t her area of expertise. Fighting is where she shines.
Pursuit Of Jade follows Fan Chang Yu, a butcher’s daughter, and Xie Zheng, a fallen noble seeking revenge. Their fake marriage turns into true love, but war tears them apart. Determined, Fan Chang Yu wields her butcher’s knife on the battlefield, searching for justice and her husband. Meanwhile, Xie Zheng reclaims his title, fighting to protect his country and love. Reunited in battle, they stand together, defying fate and uncovering the truth.
Are You the One
The female lead is intelligent, independent, and capable of defending herself. She rarely needs rescuing and contributes significantly to the story, making her a solid example of a strong female lead.
The clever and decisive Liu Mian Tang, as the first lord of Yang Shan, led the people of Yang Shan to punish the wicked, promote goodness, and uphold justice.
